If this happens to you again... remember the following

If you have a 3rd party insurance and if the damage is less than 5000.. just ask the guy to fuck off and get it done your self

However., if someone rams you from behind., it’s always the other guys fault and you have the full right to ask them to repair it from their insurance

Just know that in the situation you have faced, you could have asked the cops to file a case against the three wheel driver and tell him that you will include the lawyer fees from them as well when the case is won
