ACER laptops...? need help!

i'm going to buy one.... bcos it is da cheapest one! but many ppl r say its BAD..

IS THAT TRUE??? DOES sm1 know???

I've used one.. never really had any problems.. just don't do stuff that are not meant to do with a Laptop.. that's all.. besides, your acer comes with a warranty.. so why worry?

Absolute bull shit. There's nothing wrong with Acer laptops. If battery time is a major requirement for you, go for an Acer TravelMate.

Battery life totally depend on the kind of work you do... if you use programs that require high processing power, VGA power.... etc. of course your battery will drain more faster... laptops normally have their own "Battery Profile" when its not connected to Direct Power source.. you can also tweak it and adjust!

But if you really concern about battery then ask your dealer to replace your default 6-cell battery with a 9-cell one... will cost you a bit though!

Who says ACER is bad...
I know lots of people who use Acer laps... no problems buddy...

i also hv one before few months... NO probs.. if you use it properly, it should be a new or.. manufactured after 2007 or later... couz as i know old ones hv HDD and battery probs..(i think those bullshits are based on this vage) but NOW.. every thing is fine...

But i prefer DELL,HP, or fujitsu ones (I hv used dell ones and currently using fujitsu, but i hv heard that the HPs are also good) ya they are expencive.. but its worth..

heheh true.. but some dealers DON"T KNOW ANY ANY ANY thing about wht they selling, they only know wht the price is (not all of them, but there are) the best way is check it your self... or ask some one who does..

as i know acer travelmate, searies hv a good battry life.. but it depends on wht you gonna do...

When you buy from SL (because I'm not sure about SL dealer procedures, should be the same though) please ask them all about their warranty procedure and insist on Acer International warranty card because for a laptop... the service is SOOOO important unlike desktops.. laptops are like 99% dependent on manufacturer for repairs.. also ask them after warranty period how they handle if anything goes wrong!!

If you're buying laptops from unity, ensure that you get a proper warranty and also ensure that you get a new machine and not a used or refurbished machine. Like Sri_Lion had said earlier, with laptops, you're dependent on the manufacturer for repairs or upgrades so ensure that you do get the proper warranty. Acer comes with international warranty or if there is a local branch, then warranty from the local branch. If the shop is not giving you any one of these warranties, then its better not to buy from them.

I use a ACER tooo but my advice is dont buy a gaming acer laptop or a one with a separate vga.... Ii will heat the laptop and it will automatically shutdown..

But genarally acer is good...
