The government said today that a group of government members including cabinet ministers were going to meet President Mahinda Rajapakse in order to request him to take drastic action against Deputy Minister Mervyn Silva’s conduct on Tuesday.

Cabinet Spokesperson Minister Keheliya Rambukwella made these remarks at a press briefing a short while ago and added that due to this meeting, it was still immature to take action against the Deputy Minister for tying a Samurdhi officer to a mango tree earlier this week.
