Q: How is Adobe Firefly support implemented? What does the patch do?
A: It's simple: I took some key files from Photoshop 24.6 Beta that are required to support Firefly and substituted them for the original files in your Photoshop 2023 installation. The original files are also saved. They will have the *.orig extension. So you will still be able to return to the original product.
Q: Is everything going to be patched? After applying the patch, do I need to hack anything additionally?
A: The patch contains already fixed files. If necessary, you can use the program even without authorization, but Firefly will not work in this mode. However, we would like to note that Firefly accesses the same IP addresses as the window that pops up outside of Russia informing you that you need authorization. So I had to remove the blocking of these addresses, which is implemented in my builds of products 2023! Decide for yourself what is more important to you.
Q: Will Photoshop be patched correctly if it is located in a different path than the default recommended one?
A: The patch takes the information about the program folder from the registry. So, don't worry about this.
Q: What about support for different languages?
A: Firefly's interface will be in the language in which Photoshop 2023 was originally installed. But requests to the AI will have to be sent exclusively in English. It doesn't understand any other language.
Q: Can I apply the patch to a Photoshop version lower than 24.5?
A: I tried running the patch on versions 24.4.1 and 24.2.1 - it didn't work. At the same time, Photoshop itself doesn't start, giving an error. This leads me to the conclusion that the patch will only work on version 24.5, and possibly on future versions.
Q: I get an error message when I try to run the patch. What do I do?
A: The patch is a self-extracting 7zip archive. Sometimes improperly configured systems cannot cope with launching this file. But it's not a judgement. Extract FireflyAI.exe with an archiver available to you, and then run replace.cmd. It will run and close, thus completing the installation of the necessary files in their places.
Q: My progress bar is almost completely filled with green and then stops. What's wrong with it?
A: Keep in mind that this is a beta version of the AI and that it's an online service and may be hampered by connectivity issues or overloaded Adobe servers. Remember, we're using all this stuff illegally, and Adobe may be trying to limit our activity in some way. In any case, I don't need to make any complaints about it!
