IF u need to sharing internet connection for 2pc's only..thn u try pc-pc option(ad-hoc)..but the best way is to use a swich or router..otherwise whn 2 pcs are surfing internet in sametime connection wouldbe getting slow..

IF u need to connect in wi-fi technology,u must defintley need a wirless router..:D

You got it mixed up there. The AD HOC method is to connect 2 PCs via wi fi without using a wireless router.

u can't use switch to share internet. coz switch is in 2nd OSI layer and it can't handle IP address.

if u have LAN ports on both of your PCs then connect them using a cross cable, then if you are using windows xp you can easily configure this by setup home or office network tool. only thing is one PC is connect to the Internet and it shares the net connection to the other..

No need of routers or switches..

What kind of ADSL modem you have?..Does it have a Ethernet port? If it does..most new ADSL modems are routing capable. Which means it's running a DHCP server. You can use a cheap 5-port switch to share internet if you have a ADSL modem with a single Ethernet port.

If u trying to share a USB modem it's not that good.. Because you gonna have to keep running the PC connected to the USB modem to use other computer for internet. If u happy to do that just use a cross-over cable to connect both PC's. Then run the Network Setup Wizard on Windows according to your setup..
