All right guys, aside from inane pics taken from the internet, let's try to :lol:have a real conversation here. This looks like a good thread to participate in, aside from the 99% of jingoistic horseshit in this site

I've seen the behavior of a lot of Buddhists out there, culturally, I could be considered as one. My parents were, so by default people assume that I am. But..... nah I don't identify with any religion. I've had a "spiritual but not religious" phase, but I'm having doubts about that too.

I've seen the Buddhist approach for spirituality ( in Sri Lanka) and honestly, it's just as same as good ol' god worship !. People go to a temple, recite some sutras, hoping that "It will make their lives better" or "will have more fortunate circumstances". For me, this is plain old god worship. You just substitute the worship of "Siddhartha", hoping that by paying reverence to him your life will flow smoothly. You know what? you don't know what will happen. All that "gaatha" is there for you to make yourself feel better .

Discuss.

 none of the main religious believes like heaven and hell, reincarnation and karma etc., were proven by scientific means to date. We are talking about hot spot technology that can even catch a f#rt and the past and presence of great scientists like Einstein and Hopkins. Sir Arthur C Clarke "I believe all religions are a form of mind virus that affects otherwise healthy—and often educated—human beings".

Exactly ! but good luck proving that to a person who is outside. They come up with some lame examples like " oh look at edgar caycey he said reincarnation is true" or say "you know now american scientists are finding these things true"... you know the typical responses the masses of this website tell.

I challenge them. Find ONE peer reviewed journal article proving the phenomena of karma/reincarnation. I rest my case.

what is the beginning point of evolution ? why are we evolving ? :)

the beginning point of the evolution is the big bang itself as we know it.... this idea of how the universe began could change in the near future somehow.......

we are simply evolving to adjust to the changing needs of our species...... maybe someday in the future all of us could look like the swollen headed aliens.....

How come there are some things on our planet seem that they are especially designed for us ? For example. The 2 most comfortable colors are blue and green which happen to be the color of the sky and most of the nature around us. Who chose those colors to be there , before earth even existed ?

dude do you know how much of this planet is untouchable to us!

if god created this planet why he has given 71% of the land area for see.....

and from the remaining land why 29% of land is become desserts or semi desserts that they are inhospitable to comfy living?

why 40% of the land area is covered with forests and 9% is for sheer ice caps.....

why if god loves us that much created a world so small for the development of his favorite beings... why? why? god why?

so what... if god loves us so much he might have created the whole world just to our pleasure..... with no worries or difficulties.... (unless he wants to tests us which makes the ML's claim of making this world for our well being false :P)

and according to ML... god loves fish more than humans!

Atheist is a person who do not believe in religions and common beliefs but science right?

    Not really.

I'll give you a brief wikipedia definition "
Atheism is, in a broad sense, the rejection of belief in the existence of deities.[1] In a narrower sense, atheism is specifically the position that there are no deities.[2][3] Most inclusively, atheism is simply the absence of belief that any deities exist.[3][4] Atheism is contrasted with theism,[5][6] which in its most general form is the belief that at least one deity exists.[6][7]
The term atheism originated from the Greek ἄθεος (atheos), meaning "without god", used as a pejorative term applied to those thought to reject the gods worshipped by the larger society. With the spread of freethought, skeptical inquiry, and subsequent increase in criticism of religion, application of the term narrowed in scope"

    ( from wikipedia)

I don't believe in science. Science is not a process of belief. It's a method of creating a model to explain phenomena in a rational way.
