It is compulsory for all Sri Lankan citizens to register under this scheme and provisions have been made to do this in an easy harassment free way. All citizens in Sri Lanka have been directed to regiter with the Defence Ministry with immediate effect, Director General of the Media Centre for National Security, Lakshman Hulugalle said.
He said that the registration will be complusory.
He said to make the registration convenient to people they could log in to the website of .
He said that in the event if people do not have access to computer facilities mobile services will be introduced for registration.
"The main idea of this is to ensure national security", he said.
