The Athlon FXs are same as athlon 64 or X2 models. The only difference is they have an unlocked multiplier.(Not that u can go down,The multi in FX can go up too).Overclocking made easy.

AMD’s FASN8 May Be Delayed to Next Year
Advanced Micro Devices, the world's second largest manufacturer of x86 central processing units (CPUs) will delay the roll-out of its new enthusiast-class platform to next year, according to sources familiar with the plans of AMD.

The chipmaker only plans to unveil its AMD Phenom FX-80 processor, which is designed for single-processor configurations, in November or December this year, whereas AMD Phenom FX-90 and FX-91 products are set to be released sometime in the first quarter of 2008, sources close to AMD indicated. The move basically delays the introduction of AMD's FASN8 platform, which employs two CPUs and puts AMD's success in the field of computer enthusiasts under question. » Read full story

AMD Native x86 Quad-Cores Shipping In August AMD announced today that Quad-Core AMD Opteron™ processors, code-named "Barcelona," are planned for shipment in both standard and low power versions at launch later this summer. This would be the first time AMD has made both standard and low power parts immediately available as part of a new processor launch. During this first launch, processor speeds are expected to be available up to 2.0 GHz.

    AMD updates Catalyst for Linux
Anyone who owns an AMD graphics card and runs it under Windows knows that driver updates are complete and frequent. However, change the operating system, and this level of support seems to evaporate. You're lucky to even get a LiveCD to boot if you have an ATI card in your system, and even if you manage to install a version of *nix, good luck getting 3D applications to run bug-free.

Thankfully, AMD decided to listen to their customers. The latest AMD Catalyst for Linux is much cleaner, much more efficient, and much faster than the older version of Catalyst. Classic *nix functions, such as switching between X server and CLI are much smoother/don't freeze the system, and late 3D applications (even simple ones such as Google Earth) actually work now, which couldn't be said for older versions of AMD Catalyst for Linux.

Granted, the Linux version is not as fully featured as the Windows version. However, it is just as functional, and just as stable, as the Windows version, which is a huge step in the right direction for *nix users.

It has to be the other way round. Better the VGA card, less dependent on driver tweaks :P

I meant bug fixes all the way.But to tell you it was a great improvement into 7.4. But when they developed them for HD 2900XT X1950XT/XTX too got improved with it.Till then X1950XT was like an adopted child :P :P.U knw in 7.4 it thought my stovk volts are 1.175 while the actual was 1.425 !!(Well now I run @ 1.175 thanks to that)
