Here dude, it just depends on what r u planin to use ur processor for.

AMD processor is actually better than Intels for some tasks in meny respects.
same time,
Intel processor is actually better than AMDs for some tasks in meny respects.

hahaha..

For heavy audio and sound processing, its technically proven that Intel takes leadership.
I use my processor for those tasks. So, Intel is the best choice for me.

But for a 3D game designer, an AMD processor will work smoothly than my processor does.
That was two years ago. Now, Intel dominates in every respect.

Haha thanks! I haven't visited Tom's Hardware recently...
Really thanks for up-to-dating me

Anyway, I have tried an AMD processor with some big sound apps. :sorry: It sucks. My 2 years old Intel 3 HT works better than that.

Anyway, I have to update my machine.. Sure I will test and compare my new PC with my friend's AMD and comment here unbiased :)

One more thing, BOTH INTEL and AMD sucks for my tasks.. U know? Any professional (in the planet haha- all sri lankan sound 'professionals' use PCs sadly) don't use PC architect processors for sound processing! I know some of them personally. They all use MAC architecture.
(not sound editing I'm talking about. Its dynamic synthesis and so on...)

Don't be provoked, but Apple = Intel. PCs and Macs only differ in terms of software and outer looks.

100% true. But, our leading software only supports MAC. So :sorry: I cannot use it and I will never be able to :sorry: If I could use it on PC, yes no difference for me too! But, at the moment a hege gap for me.

    Think practical.

Added, Yes Apple also produce PC structured machines as well.

i think it depends on the user who works with the system!!!!
Or, it depends on whether your are concerned about whether you got what you paid for, or not.

If you are lucky, you might be able to install OSX on your PC. Lukcy = if you have compaitble hardware.

I use AMD bcoz it is cheap.
I can run 64 bit OS on 32 bit host os on vmware (in xp) in AMD. But Intel users can not do it. :P
