Can't you use the "carnet de passage". Is it too much of a hassle?. I have seen a vloger called "Itchi boots " follow that method throughout the world and ,on the go at boarders alone.
Even so sometimes I can't handover the car at the destination. It's not worth the time spent on driving back. Many travel forums advise to hire a taxi on daily hire basis in Central Asia.
    Thanks for your suggestion.

Yes.. I posted here about six months ago that we have plans. It's a bit hard to organise things in this part of the world. Hotels are easy but rental cars across the borders and even border crossing in itself is a hassle without the language. I believe Tajikistan still insists on a Covid test at entry.

So my wife was discussing with tour operators in Uzbekistan who arranges everything.

Booked tickets thr' Emirates to fly via DXB to Bishkek and return via Tashkent. Emirates sent an email a couple of days ago rescheduling with a 82 hour wait in Dubai due to the current disturbances. That won't work out for me and also I might get stuck in Dubai again on the return.
Booked a different set of tickets through Delhi. Air Astana flies daily and only three hours to Almaty which is their base to the Central Asia.

Aren’t you afraid to fly during this war ?

I rerouted the flights. Now first fly to Delhi. Then it's 3 hrs to Almaty (Kazakhstan) then next flight to Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan) - Flying Air Astana all the way and back to Delhi from Tashkent. (Again change at Almaty where the flight to Delhi starts.)
Earlier plan was to fly via DXB (Dubai) - more than the worry due to the war the flight cancelations/delays are uncertain.
