u joined EK 2yrs back and upto date u have only 4 posts and nw ur here complaining abt stuff.
its either dat u r sum guy backed by sum other recording label or else u have gone to ME and they rejected ur album coz it was a crap!

one reson may be that they demand new artists to make or change the album acording to their demands..
One example is a new group I know went to M asking help to relese their album..M listend to their stuff and asked them 'If they could do songs like 6th lane instead ?'
the new group has their own style..why would they hav to change all of their tracks to sound like another band ?.. so they said a big fuck u to M & went in search of others..
M just wants every band to sound like the a band just selling more albums presently.. so they do nothing to promote or develop the sri lankan music industry bt just to earn a buck in any means necessary.. they care nothing about their artists or their individual styles...

MAchang..just because of a few crappy sounding mp3s can be downloaded from the net doesn't mean that people stops buying original albums... thats just bullshit..
The other option is 2 use the net to promote their stuff... instead of thinking the net as the enemy, just use it to get your demos or new singles to a wider audience all through the world..
the medium is already there..people are looking for downloads..then why the hell dont they use this awesome tool to promote their stuff ?
do u know that earlier People like Iraj & Chinthi used the net to get their stuff promoted ? Iraj is where he is now because of the net.. atleast it helped him to become very popular...
Even some international artists directly release their new albums to demonoid & such.. because they know the potential... do u even know how many times the stigmata album has been downloaded through piratebay, darksiderg, ect. so far ?
They hav gotten exposure all around the world because of p2p & RS than they could ever dream of if they gav it to some advertising company or record label..
Its time that artists start looking at the net as an awesome way to promote their stuff rather than the enemy..

Yes exactly! The only disadvantage of those record labels is the lack of promotions. Just because ME is owned to a business company that have a gigantic media power.. Anyway, if they can join EK officially, I think they also can really do some work to overcome it.Lich said:
