This is my first post on elakiri, read the forum a lot but never found the need to register till today. The community has given so much information on local products and services so I thought of showing some gratitude. Hehe. So here we go>>

If you are using Airtel Broadband, you will have noticed that the connection drops at certain times but the connection never gets disconnected. Due to this you might leave the pc to download stuff but when you return nothing has actually been done. I created a simple program that checks if your connection is actively passing data or not every minute. In case it detects that data cannot be passed, it reconnects your connection. Just make sure that the connection name in the network connections is set as "Airtel Live".

Usage:
There are two programs included in the zip file, one prjRecon.exe and the other Recon.bat. Extract both the files to the same folder and create a shortcut of prjRecon.exe and add it to you startup entries. Now connect to Airtel and notice that when the data is not passing anymore, within a minute the program will reconnect to the network to ensure that data keeps on downloading even if you are afk.

Code:

Hope this helps all the Airtel Broadband users out there!

EDIT: Torrent removed, uploaded to file sharing website.
EDIT: Make sure to leave your review and if there are any bugs let me know.

    Ok, thank you very much.
One doubt you're saying that this will reconnect when there is no data transfer, that means if we keep the connection idle and do some other works, then also will it reconnect? Please, explain.

If the connection is idle nothing happens, the reconnect only takes place when data transfer can not be done, example: windows shows the connection as connected but data is not sent or received.

hey thanks for the msg.. how exactly do you install this? im having the problem constantly and its annoying, anyway i dont know for how long airtel is going to give promised speeds and other issues, anyhow i download a lot of stuff.. so example.. when it connects to ares and after like 1.5 hrs it doesnt get disconnected yet the download link is down.. so will it automatically reconnect and start to re-download?

It will reconnect to the network, the re-download would be set by the application. What will happen is it will lose the network connection as this program disconnects it and then reconnects. So when the reconnect occurs ares should start downloading as usual. The usage is listed in my first post and it also listed in the nfo which is in the archive.

    Given Patch Doesn't Work

Hi.. I downloaded your patch to reconnect and followed the instructions, but it doesn't work.

Lemme run you by what was done: Patch downloaded and extracted to Program Files in a folder called "Airtel Internet Reconnection". Then I created a shortcut to "prjRecon" and placed it in the startup folder renaming the shortcut as "Airtel Internet Reconnection". Under Network Connections, I renamed it to "Airtel Live".

Each time I switch on the machine, I get a pop-up which says "Component 'MSWINSCK.ocx' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid". And it doesn't seem to reconnect when the connection drops. I should also mention that I'm using the Dialog Vodafone dongle with an Airtel SIM, so the software which was automatically installed to my machine is "Mobile Partner 11.030.01.02.297" which is a software by Huawei Technologies.

I need this damn connection drop to stop and I need help badly!

For all of those for whom this application does not work, try installing the VB6 SP6 runtime. Available for download from m$,

    Code:

    PS. Keep me updated.

I do not what is wrong, it looks as if it does not work on a per case basis. The most probable thing I can think of is you being infected with some malware.
