Lol this is marketing. So buyers will buy honda and other brands then more business for him
    . :

What if they're showing off their competency in repairing Toyota gearboxes

If I was a betting man I'd bet there are much more 10-12-year-old CVT-equipped Toyotas than Honda DCTs, which are owned by morons that think since it has the Toyota badge it'll be able to handle the same abuse that a Toyota 121/240 can- resulting in more business for gearbox repair experts like Nilwala :)

They become experts recently,I knew it since its begining. There were times they couldn't even repair a old nissan or a honda es1.Anyway if this is true this is surely because of oil changing issues or lot of abuse without going for oil changes.Unlike honda which fails even if proper maintainance done regulaly.

Yup, it could be - all the more reason to avoid buying a 10-12 years old Toyota CVT purely based on the badge rather that its maintenance history :)

You have e-CVT. So less prone to problems. All most all CVT owners know that CVTs wear out faster than regular autos even on a new car if not maintained properly. CVT repairs are now somewhat affordable and more places popping up who can do the repair (not replacement). It's an accepted risk that has to be taken if you are going for any CVT equipped car. Nothing much to worry about like DCTs.

Thanks for your clarification machan!

    I really appreciate it!
