whatever you do dont have any laa ge parts. my name is too long for for on forms and major hassle, so i know the complication.

also have to spell out names in military phonatics. a as in alpha, i as in india when filling forms online. so shorter the better.

i named my kids Ryan & Rianna
no middle names just the family name -
de Silva.

guess they will thank me.

I had a same problem bro. My name has 6 parts (56 digits). When I tell my name I have to spell it exactly the same as you mentioned. I realised that as soon as I left SL. Every single time I have to explain I have this big name but my first part of my name comes from family, then first name and middle name; after that surname so on. Otherwise, they are putting my name as few parts from my full name which don't make any sense.

When registering my kids I just used first, middle (short and sweet) and surname. But, I put my family name on fathers name section which they can use if they want to.

Does it matter they are in SLanka or not? One day they might move into different parts of the world. Use two names, one SriLankan and one that could be used anywhere. That's what I did. Wherever they are use the convenient one that suits the locality.

Me too the struggle is real, I have 10 initials, Also one of my close relations has one of the highest number of initials in Sri Lanka ( within top 5 ). faced so much troubles and more to come .Is there any legal issues if I don't want to pass these names to my children one day??
