It is learnt that Minister Basil Rajapakse is engaged in a subtle and scheming program axing the senior SLFP Ministers , while propelling forward the provincial council (PC) Ministers who are his favorites. Even now , he is promoting the PC Ministers and Members who are close to him in most of the electorates of the senior Ministers , and providing them with immense allocations , whereby the organizers of the electorates are being sidelined and shunted . These sly acts are aimed at demonstrating that those whom Basil is promoting are making a better contribution to the development of the electorate.
Specially the Organizers of the seniors above him are being undercut , and his own favorite PC Ministers and members who enjoy his confidence and are obedient to him are being planted as Organizers in the electorates of the senior Ministers with a view to dominating the SLFP by capturing power within the Govt. These are being politically manipulated most secretly , slyly and using the most subtle machinations. The senior SLFPers say , this subtle and sly program of Basil is already in progress with the undercutting and shunting of those who are very loyal and extremely close to the President ,and pushing his ( Basil’s) own favorites and henchmen to the fore and replacing them.
This subtle and underhand maneuvering for power domination had already begun in Gampaha district. The Organizers of Jae la, Wattala, Negombo, Katana, Gampaha, Mahara , Kelaniya and many other areas have already been shunted out , and a large number of PC Ministers are very active in those areas spending large sums of monies and developing those areas even without the knowledge of the Organizers . Basil Rajapakse is curtailing the allocations due to the area Organizers while disbursing huge allocations to the PC members aligned behind him , reports say.
