No but seriously, here is a good reason why I think people who say animals haven't got feelings or any sense of strategy or strategic thinking extremely ignorant.

"If you're outnumbered, call for backup. :)"

They were so lucky to get such an amazing occurrence on film! Planet Earth producers would kill to get footage like this! I love how the buffalo come back with their army to save the calf :)

I know that Lions are on the top of the food chain..

But still I feel for them.. because they have to work hard to get some food, and not every day they are successful...

Yeah. I've heard that too. Well we saw an example here as well.

And almost all the 2nd level food chain elements survive on grass and trees ne. So they get plenty [well.. atleast for few more years...]

So they don't starve, but the 'mighty' lions and tigers have to starve..

yeah feels sad thamai :)

Instics are still feelings, feelings in the sense they feel it inside n they react to it. May be unconsicely, yet they do. How else wud they be driven to find their ptrn n lead 2 have sex?

That comment says that those kinda people are ignorant.

There are people who doesn't believe in quantum energy. Not only animals, but even plants have feelings too. (As far as I believe.)

but they are beyond the human recognition scale I guess.. A dog respects his master isn't it? Plants produce more fruit in a soft musical environment. (etc.)

As per Sri_lion, it might or might not just be their instinct. Who knows.. Neither the Animals nor trees talk with us....

But as a human I respect the fact that they all are living beings, just like us ;) :)

Best example is pigs.

Almost every animal does sex only for reproduction.

But humans and pigs do it for pleasure ;) [scientifically proven] :)

Might be their instinct - might be their feelings...

Anyway mainly animals are driven according to their instincts ne.

True! I referred to the Survival Instinct there's no argument that Animals have feelings! Its just that.. they are driven by slightly different triggers than it is in humans!!!

But there's the difference between Animals and Human... When it comes to human almost everyone get to reproduce... but that's not the case in Animals.. only the toughest gets the chance.... this knowingly or unknowingly make sure that only strongest fellows genes will be used to create the new generation...

I remember watched couple of episodes on Mythbusters where they tried this...

They setup 2 different huts and planted same vegetation and one was raised in harsh conditions.. (like under Rock Music 24/7 and everytime someone would go there shout scold the plant with 4 letter words )

And the other plant on the other hut was raised under smooth classical music and they would go in talk to them like you would talk to a baby etc. etc.

But this particular experiment did not get enough results to prove this theory...

I guess there are too many variables involved even if you want to do something like this...

The next episode was quite comprehensive...

where they checked plants and feelings..actually if you can find it in Youtube please do watch!! Quite interesting!!
