"Further south though, a lot of cloud on our earlier satellite image and an area of low pressure is continuing to develop close to Sri Lanka where we are going to see some exceptionally heavy rain over
the coming days perhaps 300 400 maybe 500 millimeters of rain falling. So there could well be some flooding and in this area well we could see a tropical cyclone beginning to take shape."

Very Rare Extreme Rain Warning for Friends in Sri Lanka

Normally, this page doesn’t issue alerts for Sri Lanka unless the rains are expected to be very severe. But this time, it’s certain the circulation near Sri Lanka will strengthen into a Chakkaram (Cyclone), while the one near Indonesia is fading away.
The Bay of Bengal rarely has enough energy to sustain two Chakkarams spinning and dancing together, one must give way for the other to survive. And this time, the Sri Lanka system is the one taking over. The battle between the two circulations is over (refer last 3 days post images).
