BCS is a professional qualification.
it is good to follow first a academic qualification as follows,
SLIIT
CINEC
BIT UCSC
NSBM
these are only qualifications that government universities are allowing to follows their M.Sc degrees
So try to follow these along with BCS.
Further it is also customary to follows vocational certifications like
CISCO
MICROSOFT
VMWARE
COMPTIA
ORACLE
actually those are product based qualifications and sometimes very helpful to enter to a job. but it is compulsory at most times it has to be with academic qualifications other than situations where your have more working experience and product exposure up to certain level.
other than SLIIT, CINEC, BIT UCSC and NSBM, the follwong qualifications are recognized and well accepted everywhere and has a direct route to obtain " chartered Engineer Status from IESL and ECUK respectively but rarely followed by Sri Lankan Student, due to some times less popularized.
Bachelor of Technology ( Engineering ) in Computer Engineering ( Open University of Sri Lanka ) : CEng awarded by IESL
City and Guilds Graduate Diploma in IT : CEng awarded by ECUK through BCS
