Well well well,
Im not a Elakiri forum poster , just stumbled upon here with my childish sis's account. But your naive first post attracted me. (Y2K) You are going on Kafkaesque turns bewildering on the words 'Something' and 'Nothing'. There's a plethora of counter-arguments to all your posts. But let me correct you on this one thing.
The LHC, The biggest particle accelerator, or the supercollider is not built to create matter. It is made to discover the particles that have not yet been discovered, but predicted by the standard model (This is about paticle physics), like the Boson. Those will lead to the discovery of dark-matter. And that's when "somthing" and "nothing" comes in. There are particles like positron and antiprotons which, when collided with their anti-particle will anhialate both. Similarly scientists argue that there could be anti-matter (which they try to detect with LHC), that will anhilate matter upon colliding with.
So, that brings us to the argument, if you can get "nothing" out of "somthing", why cannot you get "somthing" out of "nothing"...!!!!
This illustrates us that from the mere 1% knowlegde we have about the world and the universe, one cannot explain it. And trying so will definitely be foolish, yet telling it is created by GOD for you cannot understand it, will be......."..."
But there's one more thing, Y2K, I had the same problem when I was a child (not that Im not a child anymore..
), and I still do, but there's lot more important things in life to consider about. I think rather than trying to find the birth of the universe, the existance of GOD or trying to measure the religions, it is better to live religiously and according to the "Compass of morale". That will tranquil your mind and peace you will find.
But, if you, like me, cannot stop wondering about GOD, I would tell what I believe about GOD. No offence to anybody (last time I told this to a theist, she stopped talking to me..:C) but I think GOD is for the faint of heart, people who are not strong enough to believe in them selves, not strong enough to discern right from wrong, so that they can relieve from the pressure by thinking that GOD will help them. ...... more on that later...
I do not believe in GOD, yet I dont deny the existance of GOD, for that simply does not matter to me. What I would like to tell everybody, to christians, islamics, jews, .....etc, is that believe in your religion and GOD if it says so. But DO NOT, DO NOT, rely on GOD to do anything for you. Do not go against you heart and your "morale compass" and ask GOD, at night, to forgive you...!! but try to atone for your sins by fixing the damage, if you can.
...later.
