President Mahinda Rajapakse has given the authorization for the 1st court martial sentence, which strips General Sarath Fonseka of all military rank, military officials told Daily Mirror online.

The first court martial found General (Ret.) Sarath Fonseka guilty of involvement in political work while in active service and was sentenced to a dishonorable discharge from rank pending approval of the President.
