Dear All,
I am Dr Pathum Kerner, 38 years old, Sri Lankan who is trying to become a politician in Sri Lanka. I am trying to remain independent and form a new political force which can over turn existing traditional elites and create a generation of new leaders in Sri Lanka.
I have founded a political party called National Green Front, (www.ngf.lk), which is yet to obtain registration. We have tried once but got rejected as we were 4 months short of completing 4 years in Politics. I have contested in 2020 parliamentary election from Gampaha district as an independent candidate. We could not win a seat but we could get 5780 votes which some consider as a significant amount. We have spent everything we got and realised money is a limiting factor.
If you all have looked in to my Facebook page or profile, you would know that I have sacrificed so many things to come this far. There is no end to this journey till we make the difference. It is not my dream or my choice but I take it as my responsibility.
Currently I am studying in University of Birmingham and reading for a Masters in Public Administration. ( MPA) But my social service activities are on going in Sri Lanka with the help of public donations.
However, we have come to realise that we need lot of money to fight this political battle. It is no wonder that existing politicians spend a lot when it comes to elections. We are no way close to their budgets but we still need some money to carry our selves forward. Taking public donations and raising a fund is the only way we could proceed to remain strong and launch ourselves well.
So I am expecting to ask you all to support me in this. A small contribution wound be enough. I can make sure your monies will be taken care of very efficiently to benefit lot of Sri Lankans. I have given a good past record to you to study what I could do.
