Thailand's King Bhumibol Adulyadej - the world's longest-serving monarch - has died aged 88.
A palace statement confirmed the news shortly before 7pm local time (1pm UK time) today.
Crowds had gathered outside Siriraj Hospital as news of his deteriorating condition emerged last week.
