U.S. Air Force’s Operation Pacific Angel
Continuing this deep connection between our two nations, this week Jaffna is welcoming the U.S. Air Force’s Operation Pacific Angel, which will renovate schools and provide medical services for nearby communities.
I am pleased to be visiting Jaffna this week, to participate in Pacific Angel and to meet with political leaders, civil society, the media and many others. The United States is committed to the future of all of Sri Lanka.

Exercise 'Pacific Angel' Commences in Jaffna Peninsula

A joint Medical and Renovation campaign ‘PACIFIC ANGEL’ commenced on 5th August 2013 and will be continued till 11th August 2013 in the Jaffna Peninsula with the Sri Lankan Armed Forces and civil organizations in conjunction with the United States Pacific Air Forces. PACIFIC ANGEL is the annual exercise of United State Pacific Air Forces which is conducted in a selected country in the Pacific reign in collaboration with the US Pacific Air Forces with the Armed Forces and civil organizations of the respective country.

Military civil engineers give back to Sri Lankan community
Seventeen engineers from the Air Force, Army and Marine Corps are utilizing skills they have honed in their jobs to give back to a community in need during Operation Pacific Angel-Sri Lanka here.
PACANGEL is a joint and combined humanitarian and military civil assistance mission led by Pacific Air Forces to provide medical and engineering support to the people of Jaffna.
