Button side

Hi !,
Do anyone know? ,why Men's shirts ( or T-Shirts)have buttons on the right, women's on the left?

As far as I know:

Some high class families used to have maids who usually help to the ladies to wear the clothes.
so for maids its easy to buttoned if the buttons are on the left side.

Do not know about the reliability of this fact.
