Case History of Second Death:

He is originally from Jaffna and doing glass business. On March 11th he visited Jaffna and on March 23rd received treatment from GP. Yesterday he was admitted to Negombo Nawaloka but not given proper history. On suspicion they transferred to DGH Negombo without informing COVID unit. He was admitted as patient with respiratory failure and intubated at ICU by CA as usual intubation. Then on doubt they have checked for COVID and it became positive. Around 50 staff exposed, two other family members have fever and two other ICU patients are there.

These are the type of cases we are expecting now. J

A patient who treated at DGH Negombo got POSITIVE for COVID-19.
This patient has been gone to GP ( a full time GP with 2 assistants exposed) on 23rd, then went to Nawaloka Negombo(3staff exposed), came to Corona triage ( staff are wity full PPE) , admitted to PCU (8 staff exposed) as no suspect history.
After admission, went to x ray department (3 staff exposed) & admitted to medical ward ( newly 15 staff was worked,) last night transferred to ICU ( there are 2 more other patients on ventilator for different disease - 8 staff exposed)
As the patient got bad, VP thought to do PCR & become positive for COVID-19.
See how many staff & relavant nearby patients got exposed.

We are taking precautionary measure & self isolation staff as previous history wasn't suggested & not suspected & now we got to know the possible contact history.
(On admission they hided/ not given full history)
Back to basic, the importance of taking details history, specially travel / contact history

Gp can suspect the disease don't want to comment on this machala what ever happened now over we should learn more from this case
?? Missed in triage. Unexplained severe respiratory symptoms is category C covid suspect according to guidelines.
