    abt CIMA...........

it ll cost u abt 5 lacs. bt it depends on the exchnge rates.

yes u cn get exception in CIM if u hv completed CIMA under current situation. bt thy r going 2 make a syllabus change in da nxt yr.(it happens evry 4 yrs). thr thy hv decided nt 2 give da CIMA certificate until da cima passed finalist hs 3 yrs of sevice experience under some specified areas. so u ll nt hv da ceritificate until u hv da experiece to get da excemption in CIM.

yes surely u cn self study. thr r many ppl doing so. thy hv study texts for evry subjects.

my advice for u is nt 2 do CIM. bt do CIMA if u wnt. bcoz the core in CIMA is management. it s da thing u ll wnt eventualy in ur carrier as an enginner.

hope u got some sort of idea!

you can do self study but after some point you need to have extra help.
because after M1 it is sooooooooooooooo difficult.

i can give u one tip
if u planning on self studying for either cim or cima
    forget it
    u'll get through stage 1
    since stage 2
u'll be precipice with your uni degree
if you are already doing a management degree you can definitely self study hence you already know the field of management, financial and costing
while you doing engineering self studying won't be that much awesome for you

    cim means simply marketing
    looaads of things to study
cima as in accounting, management, financial, costing, auditing, a bit maths and economics as well
so wont be pretty easy to self study

bro i can give u sum info abt cim coz ive already finshd da cim diploma(2nd stge)....it was not dat difficult to pass ..specialy the 1st satge whn i was studing...butnw dey hav chnged da syllabus and U ll hav 2 engage in lots of course wrk. mainly assignments and final exams...so if you are having a heavy stdy load in ur uni..i recommend u to do only 2 subs per a session...

Not like other exams, CIM s all abot application of ur knwladge...so ull hav to thnk as a practicla marketr when doing course work...accordingly in 1st stge ull hav to get in to the role of mkt executive(not sales) so think in the oparational lve and in da 2nd stg as a mkt manager- tactical decision and in 3rd stg marketing directer making strategic decisions... hope u find dis useful ..

CIM - Professional qualification for Marketing
CIMA - Professional qualification for Management and some what in Accounting too. So mostly in to management.
If you are in to accounting then do ACCA

What Eng degree you have? You jumping the stream due to lack of availability of jobs in Eng field? Then Do CIMA.

If not just choose one with your interest.

MBA 80% in to management so can't do an IT MBA. If you want IT then its MSc

For your requirement i think CIMA will suite you.

Yr machan but Computer Science Department of University of Moratuwa has got a MBA in IT .To follow that u have to complete a B Sc degree in Computer science and also should have at least 2 or 3 years of experience in the management field .

And machan M Sc is not related to management i think .Of course u can choose ur optional subjects which have some connections with management and Econ. But its all about obtaining a specialty on Computer Science and Engineering feild .

As examples you can have ur M Sc mainly based on image processing ,Software Applications .etc etc !!!!!!!!
