Someone told me like there should be 3 representatives from CIMA UK in every country but not in Srilanka. etc.. Something like that. Not sure which one is true

Don't propagate false information without facts machang.

I have personally verified this with another CIMA chapter about this last weekend and they confirmed about the governance issue... And they said that nothing will happen to the students doing it.

Examinations and everything will run as normal. And people can get the membership too. CIMA will never stop its chapter in Sri Lanka because it gives them a huge ass revenue in millions (Pounds). In fact, Sri Lanka is 'the' most successful overseas chapter for CIMA.

So after they solve the governence issues, possibly after appointing a new head, they will resume work as usual.

    Cant help neda?

Alternative option is to create a national qualification for management accountants which is recognized worldwide. But with a competent body like CIMA, how can Sri Lanka create something like this?

So people are choosing the best alternative for sure.

And no matter how hard we try, most of the time (can be more than 80% or so) Sri Lankans living in Sri Lanka is sending their money overseas... knowingly or unknowingly.

Its just typical SL thinking that why we dont make much in this country we are just sellers and buyers ..and there are people who have excelled in business without doing CIMA(nawaloka mudalai karada dane na:confused: ) our ppl are too geeky and thry respect the british organization ..its ok if we're gonna learn something like their language you can assure that they do it correct and u pay for all the right reasons but this...this is nonsense

The competition has changed machang. Now people can't do what siddhalepa mudalali, nawaloka mudalali did those days. Resources are limited and opportunities are immensely hard to capture in SL (from what I've heard)

Sometimes all those can be nonesense machang. But that's where the world is moving right? So if you embrace it, you will survive.. (I'm not just talking about CIMA. But all the foreign qualifications as a whole...) What's the Sri Lankan qualification recognized worldwide?

why are the people are soo die hard to work abroad? thats the other question that im faced with if they have normal qualifications on AL in SL they can get a normal job going thru a uni, open uni bla bla or a worldwide recognized course but the thing is that these ppl dont wana work here abroad is whats on their minds and the freaky free education system isnt getting this country anywhere theres not enough money to develop schools and the syllabus :P(like OL maths hehe) sure its tangled up but if every one keeps on goin abroad then this country will go down ...o what the hell they just care about their pocket lol lamers

machan we dont need world recognition to eat live and survive thats where it all went wrong

Going abroad is not only for money machang... :)

It's because of the quality of life.

For me, the definition of a good life = Peace of mind + Respect + Valuable inputs + Good friends + Love + calm environment + some money + Better systems etc.

SL is corrupted in many ways.. Join the work force and see it for your self machang. Just see how many are trying to drag you down if you're performing well. And try to raise your voice against unfair things and see....

Foreign countries are not a heaven. But most countries are better than SL. That's why people go abroad. And many are helping the Sri Lankan economy by injecting a lot of foreign exchange too, unlike Sri Lankans living in Sri Lanka.

2 sides of the coin brother :)

Anyway the thread is going way way off topic now and I've gotta do some work :) Catch ya later
