    Great info

Im planning to build a PC by end of February 2009, and was searching all over the net for finding the ideal spec that meet my budget and requirements. This article was awesome, which contains all the stufff summarized in one place, including the dealers in sri lanka. Other than this http://www.tomshardware.com contains lots of useful stuff like benchmarks for the CPU,GPU and good overclocking guides. I will let U guys know when I build it. :)

    need Some help

I've decided to go with quadcore Q6600 2.4Ghz (Rs. 23k). intend to overclock Q6600 to a super stable 3.0 Ghz, with air cooling . Will b using 2x2GB DDR2 800Mhz (may be corsair XMS2). Willing to spend arnd 15k to 25k for the M/B. I dont wanna use cross fire or SLI. 3 questions

    1. Will this M/B be sufficient : Gigabyte GA P35-DS3P (arnd Rs 15K).

    2. whats d best M/B option for me available in SL within that price range?

    3. Is any of the P45 gigabye boards (like GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3P) available in SL? If so where can I buy? (Able to find p45 foxconn boards in unity but no gigabye :()?

3.Yes.Many.At any of PC house shops in Unity.

Thanks for d quick response.. I already checked few PC house shops in Unity and MC.. All they have is Gigabyte P35 and few X48(DS4, DQ6 bit expensive) .. Ill check again..

They *had* the EP45-DS3R. I don't know presently if they do. It was around 22000 about 3 months ago.

Why not go for a P5Q? I don't really like Gigabyte's BIOS features. They are too complicated. But maybe most new boards have complicated things. *sigh*

The only "significant" difference between P35 and P45 is the PCI-E 2.0. For the price difference, it is not worth it. But GB and Asus boards having EPU's is a good feature, if they don't affect overclocking. I haven't researched on that yet.

Why not just go with Foxconn? The quality, performance and price are all awesome.

@Gamerz9, OCZ RAM in SL? Where did you get it from? SLMEGA?

I would definitely go with EP45-DS3R for that price if i could find it.. One of my friend had it (He bought it from abroad) and its a great Overclocker..
Ill let U guys know once I check all d shops in unity..

Asus is also good.. But good asus boards are bit PRICEEE..
    I prefer P45 chipset over p35 within my budget(15k-25k) ..
EP45-DS3 is my ideal choice.. PCIE 2.0 is a bonus cause Im planning to Use a HD 4670 512Mb(Rs 18k) for graphics..

I heard P35 Foxconn Mars(Rs 16k) is great.. Not sure abt the Foxconn p45 boards I saw in unity ..

    Thanks anyway..
