Computer Forensics in Sri Lanka

Hi

I am a student in England who is researching the use of computer/digital forensics in Sri Lanka. I've found quite a lot of useful information so far, such as SLCERT, ICTA and the University of Colombo's involvement, but I would like to know if anyone can help with the following areas:

1. Are there any/many training course available, either at universities or private training facilities, for learning about computer forensics? I'd be interested if there are any that have training programmes for recognised standards such as Encase and FTK.

2. Are there computer forensic facilities used by the police? from my research I've seen that there was planned computer forensic labs being set up, but I'd like to know if they are up and running yet?

3. Any general thoughts or comments about the use (or lack of) of computer forensics? What would you say are the challenges - education? money?

and isnt that available in UK? (i mean while having all the resources in your country...why do you bother about Sri Lanka?

I'm interested in Sri Lanka because I'm looking at another country's computer forensic facilities and I chose to look at Sri Lanka.

2. Yes; but i don't think that the professionals are specially trained for forensics..but again we don't know what kind of professionals are hired by the authorities
3. There are some cyber crimes here and there, the most famous was someone ripping off a browser and publishing it as his work here!

No body won't come to know about Cyber Crimes and how big is that until they enter the Cyber Crime Investigation.

This is was my question before..............!

Now I am working as a Senior Cyber Forensic Investigator....... unfortunately not for Our Country.

when I have finished my study on this field(not in Sri Lanka) I was contacting too many big police officers but no body wanna listen.. Even still ? Also I sent a massage to www.icta.lk still waiting for result . . I know it will be zero...

** see more then 85% adult people using mobile phone in Sri Lanka
** Mobile is really giving a big part for Planning a Crimes
** How many porn, how many harassments, how many abduction.....

How there are working??????????????????

Hi if u want to know about forensic courses, ask from Colombo Medical Faculty. There are many courses..
