They both are inactivated vaccines from two different sources.
Sinopharm is a subsidiary of the China National Pharmaceutical Group Corp (NCPG), a state-owned enterprise in China while the Sinovac is a private company.
It;s interesting to note that all inactivated virus Covid vaccines from any developers, show low efficacy and that's why the West decided that's not the way to pursue for Gen-2 vaccines. But Bharat BioTech claims (inacivated) a higher efficacy. currently on Phase III.
PS: Even some of the Gen-2 vaccines are back to the drawing board for the reason I mentioned in another recent post. The Spike Protein itself - without the virus - causes lung damage. So inhibiting the FP (Fusion Peptide) alone will not be good enough as it only prevents the virus from invading into our cells.
