Fishermen in the north eastern coast between Trincomalee and Jaffna have been warned to keep away from seas as a cyclonic condition is developing in the area, Meteorological Department said.
The center cyclone named ‘Thane ’ was about 800 km off Trincomalee and was heading in the direction of Tamil Nadu, they said.
The conditions will remain until December 29.
