D M Jayaratne to support General Fonseka?

As per few reliable sources and hints, Minister of Plantation Industries, D M Jayaratne is readying to give his support to General Sarath Fonseka in backstage. he is one of the few remaining members of the original Sri Lanka Freedom Party members. We can confirm this by quoting a statement of Minister Champike Ranawaka.

Minister Ranawaka said a powerful minister of the government who expected to be the prime minister under this government in 2005 is attempting to become the PM when the ‘Swan’ comes to power. However, the government has the capacity to confront any challenge that comes from the opposition said Mr. Ranawaka.

He said this speaking at a press conference held by the JHU at Mahaweli Centre in Colombo (2009/12/24). The Leader of the group of JHU Parliamentarians Ven. Atharaliye Rathana Thero and its Information Secretary Nishanthe Sri Warnasinghe too were present.

Who bought this property ?; in whose name ? -JVP questions


(Lanka-e-News 26.Dec.2009 8.30PM) The allegations made against the Rajapakse family on platforms as having acquired large amounts of assets is a serious charge.

At an interview with a weekend sinhala newspaper, JVP MP Anura Kumara Dissanaayke made a very grave allegation against the Rajapkse family’s amassing wealth.. Producing a list of properties he asked who bought these properties and in whose names?

Dissanayake posed the following questions to the voters at the forthcoming Presidential elections .
The charges leveled are reasonable.

Who is the owner of Deniyaya Estate?
Who is the Chairman of Apollo Hospitals now?
Who bought the Australian High Commission premises . In whose name is it now?
Who bought 100 acres at Dambadeniya ?
Who bought 150 acres of coconut land at Puttalam ? in whose name?
Who acquired vast tracts of land at Tissamaharama ?In whose name are they ?
In whose names are shares of Hotel Intercontinental ?


These purchases and amassing of wealth are in the real names of the purchasers and those who acquired them. Others are in the names of close relatives and trusted cronies. There is clear evidence to substantiate these allegations. All the facts and figures of these transactions will be revealed after the 26th of January 2010, Dissanayake observed.
