This year Safe Bottle Lamp Project is among finalist, following is a brief description about the project:

Safe Bottle Lamp Project
Burns caused by makeshift unsafe kerosene lamps are a common problem in some parts of Sri Lanka, where a fifth of the population has no access to electricity. These accidents often cause severe pain, scarring and sometimes even death. The good news is that the vast majority of these injuries can be prevented. Safe Bottle Lamp is the brain child of a Sri Lankan surgeon, who designed a simple safe lamp that can be easily mass produced at low cost, using recycled glass. It is an effective, inexpensive and quick solution to a serious problem encountered in many developing countries.
