I'll like to expand on the diversity point, this time i'll focus on alternative cultures . . .why do all these alternative cultures exist . . it's in the word itself "alternative" . It's an alternative to the "normal" world . . there are many reasons which lead to the formation of these cultures . . music, fashion, different ideals and mostly the driving force is the desire to be different. About emos not killing themselves, i told u the goal of emo culture is not final suicide . .it's to express their helpless state
well about the world ending, it'll not be due to all coming to one mind and agreeing to end it for good, but might be from one crazy mind which goes haywire just for a second.

Take for example a trainee programmer in a mid sized company who's fresh outta college,with lot's of friends, got a gf recently and she is all over him, and is quite positive of carving a piece of the world just for himself and his love. . .this is the ultra positive type guy. . .he had not experience a difference for fuck's sake. It's coz he is not in a position to appreciate a difference, can't collect the fact that not everyone in the world is happy as him, not everyone got girls mooning after them, not everyone got a job with promotion prospects, not everyone got a nice school life. It's the diversity of the world he can't understand. So for him this whining bugger is a retard who needs to be killed, a plauge that needs to be cleansed. If he had experienced something extreme in his life, he'd have come to appreciate the existance of these ppl, be compasionate about them, give a helping hand if they are willing to accept. This is the essence of the society as i capture.
