loads of mainstream rock bands like nickelback or saliva even staind sing about love themes...dark lyrics and music are only a part of it evanescence is a alternative/mainstream rock band with very dark lyrical and musical content which is almost gothic

It depends on the viewpoint of the person, there are ppl who hate numetal coz of rap. It's just like some ppl either prefer hiphop or rock but not both, some are able to enjoy both.

Music is something universal, it may have different styles but still it's a social message to make ppl aware of something or just a work of art to enjoy.

If u like, listen to some classical pieces, twisted posted O'Fortuna by Carl Off while i posted Dies Irae by Verdi.
If u like modern hard rock . . try staind, three days grace, greenday etc
If u like to get into the origins of rap try some 2pac (lol don't take for granted, i'm not familiar with rap)
If u like country listen to Keith Urban or Johnny Cash

the choices are endless and there are thousands of genres u'll find something u like in almost everything coz music is universal

rapping has been a part of rock/metal even before linking park or limpbizkit or anyother lame band..i think it started with anthrax one of four mega thrash bands some ppl like it some ppl don't like it i personaly prefer metal with dark themes

why don't you let nu metal aside and call them something like rapcore or hiphop core ..nu metal aren't that pathetic how many times ive told you lol nu metal don't have to have rapping in them ..coal chamber , kittie, otep mudvayne and even slipknot don't have lame raps in their songs ..and there are plenty of nu metalf bands without rap ..which is listenable

here from my point of view lol it is absolutely wrong those need to be shot in public but it's only my opinion...
mostly when ppl get rap into rock it is mostly for selling purposes which is way off the gutter that's not the point of metal but that's what bands like linking park do..they think about what would make a better market and go with it may be they do it for fun but why in the hell would they want to collaborate with jayz even busta rhymes that's just fucked up...and i don't actualy believe in mixing up of two different music genra' s would give birth to better music

oldschool rap said to have better lyrics and all ..not these mainstream crap like 50cent..i beleive there are real underground rappers and hiphop heads still live outside the television
