ya u can say that.bro i was following Beatles songs very closely.
there are other songs as well

    strawberry fields forever
    fool on the hill
    hey jude

in fact Paul also a heroine addict at this time period
oh, do show where heroine comes in in Hey Jude.
BTW, if you have followed beatles songs so closely, you'd have already known the true meaning of these 2 songs.

I haven't not seen the video or heard the song (not likely to either), but I think people that composed this thread are giving more credit to indrachapa, Because, I don't think even the bloody bible have that sorta influence over the masses.

now Take Lord Byron, lived in a few centuries ago, did drugs, was bisexual, was a drunk, stirred a few scandals, still considered the best english poet after Shakespeare.
such personal struggles people go thru, have immense influence over their artistry. and they only adds up to the quality of the art. they are just fascinating people.
and thats probably why he's not in SL school books. Following the thread starter's logic, had byron been introduced to SL school books, the kids would end up being bisexual bastards devoid if any morals!!

just a simple question, hope um not interrupting the conversation  can't it be the literal mother Mary he is referring to. after all it makes sense too

Can!! is the simple answer .that's why i said one needs to listen to their other songs as well(mentioned earlier the names of them)

Paul is one of the greatest song writer ..I think he has hidden the meaning intentionally ...

dude, let alone indrachapa's anti gritz (lolwut?), people here couldn't stomach a film like sulanga enu pinisa,..the scene where saumya and mahendra smoke a join in a pit and saumya's comparison of it to being sodomized by a god?? epic.

Hey Jude, don't make it bad
Take a sad song and make it better
Remember to let her into your heart (heroine)
Then you can start to make it better

    Hey Jude, don't be afraid
You were made to go out and get her (heroine)
The minute you let her under your skin (heroine)
Then you begin to make it better

And anytime you feel the pain, hey Jude, refrain (heroine)
Don't carry the world upon your shoulders
For well you know that it's a fool who plays it cool (heroine)
By making his world a little colder
Na na na, na na, na na na na

Hey Jude, don't let me down
You have found her, (heroine) now go and get her
Remember to let her into your heart
Then you can start to make it better

So let it out and let it in, hey Jude, begin
You're waiting for someone to perform with
And don't you know that it's just you? Hey Jude, you'll do
The movement you need is on your shoulder
Na na na, na na, na na na na, yeah

Hey Jude, don't make it bad
Take a sad song and make it better
Remember to let her under your skin (heroine)
Then you begin to make it better
Better, better, better, better, better, oh!

heroine addicts do make songs about heroin.. its simple. if this song was sung by Ricky martin,Elton john or even west life ,MLTR or spice girls.lady gaga then it make sense

    Wow! dude. you got issues!.
Good thing you were not in UK in the 60s. Both Paul and Lenon would've kicked your ass for trying to destroy their song. :P

but this does not make the original meaning of the song to be that.
So you cant come off and say the song is about drugs.
Then following your logic, Traffic lights are anti government!

I think the cause to this great misunderstanding is, rock music videos and lyrics depend a shitload on metaphors where the regular songs would just shoot it in your face, so people take things for the face value.

this is exactly why Marilyn Manson was labeled antichrist even in america, people took him for the social flaws he parodied. silly world eh.

contemporary rock is pretty much in your face. There's no or very few symbolism in those.
Dunno about death metal, doom and gothic rock and such as I dont follow those genres.

some death metal sing about social and personal struggles, some scream about going on murdering sprees, some about ancient myths, some about making love to rotting corpses, some about being forced to study bible as kids anyways they are all pretty catchy and lack in depths.

gothic metal, there's no real gothic metal except in doom.

doom metal = epic win :)

90s alt rock was pretty good, I couldn't say much about contemporary rock music. but from the looks of it it's become a trend.
