I think it is more honourable for a king than being caught and get killed eventually...
I respect his courage to held the knife high up, put back it in after he had cut his throat.. It shows his strength of his will...
How does a normal man goes mad with a mosquito bite... and some goes mad and start vomitting all the filthy words he know reading a post he dislikes.. See the contrast?

yeah u r right, that one should be really strong to hold a knife and cuts his own throat

BUT it's WAR ! atleast he should've fought him self out untill some enemy soldier kills him self
Now that's what u call honorable!

and as far as the highlighted sentence goes
i ttly can understand da diference
but sorr to ask
are u refering to me over there ?
if so
i'm really sorry for u .....

Perhaps you are too sleepy to follow us,...Go and sleep for sometime.. you might be able to follow us better then.

ok that being said, i read some of your posts at this thread, stating that those who committed suicide are brave, that they are not afraid of death, but isn't it out of the sheer fear of living, outliving the issues they had in their ways? see the irony? afraid of dying is overwhelmed my the fear of living

I live a very positive and happy life so I am interested in the negative side.. Obvious?... Life should be complete.
One can learn from s death of a hero... Why people respect that boy, Madduma Bandara... I like to face death like that if I will ever have to... especially as a woman..
I am sure that I am stronger than many men of today, who are afraid of death. It seems some are afraid of the word too.

Any one can say I like to face a Heroic death ...but when it's comes to Death know onw likes to face it :) ....i don't know about you ....if you realy can face a death like that .....damn your a great girl :) ......

Yes but the heroism is doing it without being depressed... I think you can much more easilly be identified with those teenagers than Che. Natural...

ok but, i think you failed to read my question. i was referring to kashyapa whom you idolize, the coward who killed his father over the wealth and power then claimed somebody else' creation to his acount.

so simply don't use che to outargue the facts :P and in case you haven't noticed, heros are human too hence human feelings like depression

If you are afraid of death you can't learn from someone who was not afraid of death.
But in truth you have much to learn from him, if you have a little courage

you can't say he's not afraid .... he's afraid ...but he had the courage to ...do what he did :)

Moments before Guevara was executed he was asked if he was thinking about his own immortality. -No-, he replied, -I'm thinking about the immortality of the revolution....
Che Guevara then told his executioner, ...
-I know you've come to kill me. Shoot, coward, you are only going to kill a man.-...
And my most favorite is the way Sigiri Kashyapa died...
He took his knife, cut his throat, held the knife high up, put back it in and fell down dead.

thanks for posting those stuff. i think i know you

It was not a situation as you may have imagined... He was alone...In the eighteenth year of his reign, his brother Mugalan arrived in Sri Lanka, collected an army, and marched toward Sigiriya. Kasyapa met him in the plains below. "When the two hosts fell on each other like two seas that have burst their bounds, they fought a mighty battle. Kassapa espying a great stretch of swamp in front of him turned his elephant to seek another road. When his troops seeing that, with the cry: 'Friends, our commander here flees!' broke up in disorder, the troops of Moggalana cried, 'We see their backs.' But the king with his dagger cut his throat, raised the knife on high and stuck it in the sheath."

madduma bandara died for his fathers sins ( if my history is correct)

and Che guvera died for his cause ! for what he believed in

and puting them in the same league is like telling a small child that out of small rocks and banana "the banana" is Softer :P
