You probably base your views on a couple of machines. I do maintain a fleet of a considerable size. I do have had several Mac failures. The older 8 year old Macs were reliable. These never had issues. As an example, recently I had two SSDs failed in two Macbooks within two days, out of a batch of six Macbooks. These were just three months old.
Of course Apple send me new SSDs without asking questions. I suppose this is due to heat issues. The two that works most during the day failed.
Another one had random startup issues and the motherboard was replaced.

Dell stuff comes with 3.5 year warranty. These SSDs fail too. Within the last month I replaced 3 units, 512GB SSDs on notebooks less than 2 years old.

No matter who manufacturer is, anything electronic has a probability of failure.

If the problem is with the OS, then you can't exactly say XPS has problems - Windoze has problems.;)

Even servers fail. I have seen a few server failures in our DCs.

I didn't have any issue with my 2015 Mac though. Had to replace the battery because of the fire warning from Apple.

Planning to get a Lenovo laptop soon. I don't like the XPS.

Have several of the following purchased mid 2018.
    ThinkPad X1 Carbon i7-8550U, 14" WHQD (2560x1440) IPS anti-glare - 300nit, 16GB , 512GB SSD
These come with standard 3 year warranty. Light weight and no complaints. Bit expensive though.

I will probably buy a ThinkPad. Not the carbon though. Too expensive.

I have been using Macs since 2012. I started with a MacBook Pro and now have an iMac 5K. Once I had an issue with the MacBook Pro’s screen and they replaced it for free. Never had any issues with the iMac. And I know several long term Mac users and Macs give lesser troubles compare to those HPs and Dells.

The main reason I switched to Macs in the first place was because of some issues I had with my previous laptop and I kinda got fed up with going after unity plaza sellers asking to repair it each time it breaks.

I have never paid a cent for repairs on Apple computers since 2012.
