desktop held by customs. need help.

Hi guys. I need help. I sent used desktop computer (system unit only) to srilanka through FedEx. It's 4 years old system so I put value as £50.

Now it's been held by customs and FedEx local agent (Mountain Hawk Express) said I need to provide proof of purchase for system. I don't have a receipt for the system as it's couple of years old.

What's the process of this clearance? I don't mind paing whatever the tax. Just want to get it cleared without wasting time.

So receiver have to write a letter and explain this is a gift? FedEx said its been randomly selected and officer asking proof of purchase. I marked it as a gift when I sent it. It's in good condition no Scratch marks or any dust. So officer might thought its brand new.

they suspect that you have under estimate the value, so they need confirmation about the cost you valued it for, so you have to provide some purchasing documents about the PC, make them fake that is easy..

I ordered a brand new mobile phone (mi note 10 pro), they detained it since I don't have permission to import a mobile device that is not authorized by TRCSL. so the courier company sends me some documents like tax-paid invoices, license to the device obtained by TRCSL, exporter invoice, shipping company details (person who sent it), the invoice that issued by the seller, sometimes they asked the purpose of the device. so you also have to obtain those except TRCSL approval, definitely in-land revenue certification.
