In a game of fluctuating fortunes the Saints had their prayers answered for St. Anthony’s to post a last minute 30 points (2 goals, 2 tries, 2 penalties) to 28 (2 goals, 1 try, 2 penalties, 1 drop goal) win over Dharmaraja in their schools Singer Shield Division One Segment A rugby tournament game at Nittawela yesterday. At half time the Antonians led 22-5.
The Antonians were right on top in the first half with the Rajans, though having a major share of possession, opting to kick the ball. The Rajans also missed four penalties.
They however made a remarkable recovery in the second half to take the lead at 28-27. However a penalty by flay half Imad saw the Antonians winning the game in a thrilling finish. Referee: D. Nimal. skywalker
