Dilantha Malagamuwa became the 2010 GT3 Asia Champion today after a long weekend of racing at the Autopolis International Circuit. The Sri Lankan came to the weekend twenty points behind Tunku Hammam and needed almost a miracle to claim the title and in the end, he managed to get exactly that.
After a long year of battling the car that he bought, he and the Dilango Racing Sri Lanka crew managed to get the perfect setting for the car to bring the trophy home. He was delighted with the results and despite all the troubles he faced at the start of the year, the three wins he had this weekend pushed him up the ranks to take the Championship win.

For Malaysian driver, Tunku Hammam, the weekend started out as planned, but the Title was lost in the final Championship deciding race of the year when he was given a drive through penalty for overtaking under a yellow flag.

Hammam did not see the penalty board and passed it three times, causing the black flag to be shown for him, disqualifying him from the race and demoting him to second on the leaderboard for the first time since Sepang.

Craft Racing Hong Kong’s Frank Yu claimed third place in the 2010 GT3 Asia Championship with a total of 93 points.

He stands 13 points behind Hammam and a further 13 points behind Malagamuwa.

The 2010 GT3 Asia Championship trophy presentation will be held at the Grand Hyatt Macau, on Frid
