1. CBSL governor ගේ black market dollar වලින් ගන්න බඩු custom clear කරන්න බෑ කියන rule එක නිසා black market dollar වලට තියන ඉල්ලුම සෑහෙන්න වැටුනා.
2. රනිල් PM උනාට පස්සේ ජපානෙන් එහෙම බිලියන ගනන් ලෝන් හම්බ වෙලා මේක අඩු වෙයි කියල panic වෙච්ච කට්ටියක් තිබ්බ ඩොලර් විකුනුවා. black market dollar අරන් hold කරන්න බලාගෙන හිටපු උනුත් මේක අඩු වෙලා loss වෙයි කියලා ගන්න එක නැවත්තුවා.

I think If they want they can peg the rupees to usd without enough foreign currency, look at what's happening in Lebanon they have pegged their currency to usd (around 1500 but black market daily changing 15000-30000) without enough foreign currency.

Lets assume that Central bank pegged USD again. The black market should still rise regardless of CBSL peg. But the moment CBSL bans on open account imports and set max increase value, black market stopped rising and stabilized. The moment you kill the demand for black market dollars, black market lose control on the dollar rate.
Now that CBSL has modified the ban on open account import (10 essentials can be imported with open accounts), we should see a increase in black market dollars and if CBSL has pegged, black market should rise while official rate stays same. we'll see how this goes.
