Temporary Suspension of the Services Provided by Narahenpita and Werahera Offices of the Department of Motor Traffic and Restricting the Services Provided by the District Offices
In accordance with the health guidelines provided by the health sectors due to high risk of the country owing to Covid 19 pandemic, all the services provided by Narahenpita and Werahera Offices of the Department of Motor Traffic will be temporary suspended in the week commenced from 03rd of May. It is hereby kindly notified that all the appointments reserved through the Tele. No. 011- 2677877 will be cancelled.
Only Written and practical tests, which are conducted in relation to Driving Licenses by the District Offices of the Department of Motor Traffic, will not be held.
All the other activities will be carried out subject to restrictions and adhering to the health guidelines with the instructions of the District Secretaries. Further, it is hereby notified that the services provided by the District offices will be strictly limited for the residents of the districts.
03 months grace period has been given for the driving Licenses that are expired before 31.03.2021, and 06 months grace period has been given for the driving Licenses that are expired from 01.04.2021 to 30.09.2021. The Gazette Notification concerned has been published in the official web site and the Official Face Book page of the department.
Further, the validity period of all the learner permits that are expired from 16.03.2020 to 30.06.2021 will be extended up to 30.09. 2021.
