I got an HTC phone. Fortunately it did not get detected by Customs & thus no tax paid. It came to home. Seller had marked the parcel as electronic parts. If detected by customs you might have to get an import license plus approval from TRC to clear the phone.

First check the seller details...
find the sellers rate as a seller (should be 98-99)
find how many items sold by him ( 100-200 )
find the Joined date of the seller on E-Bay ( Dont try to buy the items from recently joined sellers, they may be fake sellers..)
then check the phone condition...try to contact seller and get more details...dont be hurry to buy anything..be patient...
ask the seller to send it as a gift...or mention low price on invoice...

Even there is a 90% possibility to get caught to the custom....then be prepared to spend some more 3000 rs on that. You will have to spend some time at TRC and Custom declaration office for one day...
Even if it worth then buy it !.....
