Egypt, hard hit by the highly pathogenic bird flu virus, is considering culling hundreds of thousands of pigs as a precautionary measure as swine flu nears the borders of the most populous Arab country.

But isnt Egypt more of a islamic country, with Islamic rulers. (not Islam exactly, but a certain deviation, which definitely does not permit Pigs)

So how come there are pigs breeded in such a country, firstly when there would be no demand as no Muslim would consume, and secondly when the country and its administration is related to Islam?
