im not sure about rajarata and uva regarding their facilities, but in UCSC you will have a hell of a scope to do your IT studies. IT has about 9 fully equipped (most having C2D processor based computers + LCD panels) computer labs with Wi-Fi enabled environment to carry out your studies. machan I did my A/Ls in 2004. Please get this message into your system. Sri Lankan A/Ls is tough. Very tough. Highly competitive. While you are studying from A/Ls DO NOT THINK that there are other options available for you. Coz the moment you feel like that, you will stop doing A/Ls and think about another plan. Earlier for the BIT(Colombo) required at least 3S for any subjects in A\Ls. But now after doing O\Ls you can do the FIT and can be apply to the BIT. else you can have a BSc(hons) degree from NIBM. there also they will not concern about A\L too much because they have foundation courses and diplomas.else you can select BCS (British Computer Society course) or ACS(Australian Computer Society) but its better you have A\Ls.The most important thing is doing your A\Ls well and think the path way you want to go.
A/Ls is very very important. Get yourself to a uni if possible and things will be very easy for you. Trust me on this. Think about other options only as a last resort.
yep very true statement. Lot of students try to enter IT after doing just O/Ls. And see what happens. You have wasted 11 years of your school life. Coz the time you spent in school is entirely wasted once you decide not to do A/Ls. So give A/Ls a shot. You might fail. Its ok. Atleast you tried. Yet I wanted to software engineering so I entered the UCSC (Plus I didnt like any other engineering field offered by mora other than computer so I couldnt risk it). Well im doing london a levels n more into commerce and maths n im planning on doing something like business administration combined with IT for higher studies. Im planning on the states for a uni. so i have been doing my part of the research and if anyone wants any help with relevance to this, feel free to ask me.
