2 Days In Paris (2007 Romantic Comedy) DVD Rip SUPERiER

Summary

Engenue Julie Delpy does triple-duty as writer, director and star of this romantic comedy. French photographer Marion (Delpy) and American interior designer Jack (Adam Goldberg) are returning from a vacation in Venice. Despite the fact that it was supposed to be the ultimate romantic getaway, disagreements and misunderstandings seemed to drive them farther apart rather than bringing them closer together. Before they return to the United States, Marion and Jack have a quick two-day stop in Paris to visit Marion's parents and pick up the cat that they had been pet-setting for their daughter. Unfortunately for Jack, Paris proves to be quite a culture shock. Not only are Marion's parents a pair of eccentric former "revolutionaries" who make no qualms about having knock-down-drag-out arguments regardless of who's present, but they also appear to have a particular distaste for Americans. Add to this the fact that Marion's friends hold nothing back when it comes to discussing their sexual lives, seem fixated on food rituals, and that Marion seems to run into former lovers on every street corner, and Jack quickly begins to suspect that he doesn't know his girlfriend half as well as he thought he did when they were living the simple life back in New York.

"Welcome", was certainly not a welcome change from the stereotype comedy of underworld dons making merry..It is a story about a guy who gets into trouble while looking for himself a wife. Its not only a trouble for him but for his entire family.

With Stalwarts like Paresh Raval, Nana Patekar and Anil Kapoor, the performances are one thing which cannot be complained about...The script, has some abrupt tried and tested fundas..!! I still wonder what role was crafted for Akshay Kumar... His character was confusedly sketched to an extent that he is shown to be timid, homely guy at some time and bold at some other time...Some scenes have been stupidly pasted for the sake of making it a slapstick comedy which unfortunately makes the audience yawn..Katrina doesn't struggle much with her lines since she has hardly some dialogues to make...Akshay Kumar has acted well notwithstanding his sadly drafted and sketched role...Music is horrible!! Well in all a decent movie which has some witty dialogues !! I liked the witty dialogues...Especially sequences and conversations where Nana Patekar and Anil Kapoor prove their acting prowess....

The script is something which I am not a great fan of.. Akhay Kumar\'s role was ill crafted...And some slap stick comedy scenes could have been easily edited..Editor should have seen Malaika Aroras stretch marks on her stomach in that item song..I feel he should have put his scissors there..

I would refrain from commenting on the story line since there needs to be a story to comment on !! I found that the movie lacked a strong story base...Some of the sequences would remind you of movies like Hungama but they merely remind you. It is no where even close to that league.

If you love vampires, you'll love Dracula's Curse. I've seen quite a few Asylum films and this one has to be the best one I've seen so far. The acting is solid and the characters are developed. The filmmaker is able to have a large cast without making it confusing and making each character count. There are no superfluous characters here (very important for the ending battle). The special effects and make-up effects are amazing to look at. AND it has a great story-line. I'm also impressed with the filmmaker's ability to not subject the viewer to the 'norms' of low-budget (and recently big-budget) horror films - such as gratuitous nudity and gore. Yes, this movie does have some of that, but it doesn't hit you over the head with it and allows you to not forget the story. There's no need to make excuses for this film given it's minuscule budget - it delivers!!! I was personally disappointed in Francis Ford Coppola's Dracula, and I think this was the movie it was supposed to be - sexy, entertaining and a great addition to the vampire lore.
