This is an AXP 2000+, right?
My 2600+ (stock speeds) could do it in 56s and when overclocked, it could do in 48s.

Machan mage 3GHz eka mathaka hatiyata 43 sumthin secs walin meka kara..

It's not a multithreaded test. A 3GHz P4 can do it in less than 45seconds.
Also lack of dual channel is hurting your time. But it won't be lower than 46seconds even with dual channel.

My 2600+ is 4 years old. 2600+ = 2133Mhz at stock. So 56seconds for mine (at stock) and 1min 16seconds for your at stock are comparable.

Core 2 is not Pentium
It's the same reason why games (are single thread mostly) work much faster in Core 2.
