how much the processor? MB? from where?
Is it stable? (12 hours Orthos)dpg said:Hehe..![]()
This CPU cost me Rs. 16k. & 19k for the MB. (From PC house)

My system did 6 hours Orthos fine at 3GHz (429x7) and when I was just about to end it, it crashed. Very frustrating it was. Then I tried multi 6 and it still failed. Figured it was RAM. See, my RAM was already doing 858MHz (all the way up from 667MHz, but with looser timings than SPD). Then I lowered it to 401x7 (at 400x7, PCI-E x16 would fall down to x1 speed - it's normal with this board) and Orthos passed 10hours+. Now the overclock is about 2.5 months old and it has been very stable.dpg said:Well, I ran it for 10mins(no probs-55C @ load). Then I downclocked it to 2.6GHz. Planning to do the 12Hr run & push it a little further soon as I get a new cooler.![]()

(or a CPU with higher multi

Why do you want a new cooler anyway. Try to max out the stock cooler first. As long as you are not overvolting, you are fine.dpg said:The reason i didnt get an e6320.![]()

BTW I cant figure out which one to get between Asus Silent Knight & that Gigabyte WC Kit. Im thinking of getting the Asus cooler bcoz water cooling is risky. (I might get the wc kit anyway)

P.S.
Just wait till I get my hands on a Yorkfield![]()

I'm actually running mine undervolteddpg said:I was @ 1.35v when i tried 330MHz bus & windows failed to run. Im not sure if its caused by the low vcore or the 1066MHz strap. Anway i dont want to overvolt it or OC it anymore with this hsf.(Like to keep things under 60C) Anyway what was ur vcore when u ran it @3GHz & what were the temps? (load & Idle)
(I set to 1.3V in BIOS, and it drops to around 1.27V and Asus says it is normal. I can't do anything after that, eh?

* But I should lowering it more![]()
(mine also lacks it
)Don't ask me that. Asus screwed up the temp sensor readings after some version of BIOS. It's pretty hight at full load. So I stopped looking at the temps as long as the PC was stabledpg said:temps?

Mine is P5B man. (good old 965 chipset)dpg said:I think those p5k mobos hv vdrop protection.(mine also lacks it

, the vcore has to be reduced, because the current increases.
