Because it is same here. :D
I saw in some threads Asus screwed up the P5B-E's thermal sensor since a few BIOS updates ago.

Oh!! What I dont understand is... the PC Probe software bundled by ASUS shows in my stats the CPU and MOBO temps, so where did they get that from?

You mean those figures could be faulty?

Anyway.. My rig was running without any fans inside (only the CPU, PS & VGA) today i bought 2 x 12cm and 2 x 8 cm fans and fixed it (should've done this long time ago) the readings shows that my CPU has gone down from 40s to mid mid 20s and MOBO has gone down from 51 to 41!!

I'm not really sure my readings are wrong!! If only there's a way to test it!!!

The reader info maybe interpreted wrongly.

For example, when i touch the copu heatsink, it either cooler or same temp are the hard disk. the hard disk temp is around 40C from SMART info. but CPU temp shows at 60-62C.

Which software do you use to get CPU temps?

From 19th loop... it has taken 4 seconds until 56 to conclude your test!!

I think the ideal time would be around 52!!

Few tweaks here and there you could well get it up to 45 mark!!!
